Anti Strike Rally - Monday Jan. 12th - 8:30 AM

LOCATION

SAG Headquarters
5757 Wilshire Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90036

INSTRUCTIONS

- Assemble outside the building on the public sidewalk. We must stay on public property (THE SIDEWALK) at ALL times, or we can be evicted from the premises!
- Parking is available at The Page Museum, on the west side of Curson just south of 6th Street. $8 maximum.
- The entrance to the Museum Square Building parking structure is on Curson Street on the east side of the street just north of Wilshire. This parking structure is where ALL of the SAG Board members will be parking. Some participants of the rally should be standing there, with signs, starting at 8:30 AM to greet the arriving Board members!
- Remember, we support the actors, just not a strike, so be respectful with signs and chants. This is a peaceful rally and there will be media coverage.

Please post a comment (or email
mark_80@mail.com) to let us know if you plan to attend so we can have a head count! See you there!

  1. I was one of two IATSE members that showed up at the rally today. I can completely understand not attending if you were working. However, if you are an IATSE member and have joined this group and are anti-strike and chose to not attend then I have to say shame on you. Scott BIgbee, the organizer of the rally, apparently showed up, saw me and the other IATSE member with our anti-strike signs and left. He never approached us or stood by us while we were under constant attach by at least 20 very hostile SAG Yes Voters threatening us and insisting we leave. Despite their intimidation attempts we stayed. There were reporters from numerous publications wanting a quote from Scott, the leader of this rally. Thank you Scott and thank you to the other 6,563 members of this group who left 2 people to fight this battle alone.

  2. To the 6,564 members of this site who chose to not attend the rally this morning- thanks for leaving 2 members to fight your battle for you.
This morning, I and my fellow friend, Laura, were under the impression that there would be a rally in front of SAG Headquarters. Instead we found ourselves alone holding signs, defending ourselves against a violent, angry, and emotionally disturbed group of Membership First Supporters. Although we stood our ground, we were neither prepared nor willing to face the physical threats and verbal bantering that we encountered by ourselves.
If you were working I can understand your decision to not attend, however I do not understand the apathy displayed by the rest of you this morning. Simply joining this group and writing anti strike rhetoric on this page has no real effect on the outcome of a possible work stoppage. Your presence was needed today.

  3. Never should have happened that you guys were alone. Sorry for that. We were lied to by many claiming they'd attend who did not due to whatever reason which I highly doubt there was a true excuse for. Those who did not show who did not have a strong excuse have no room to complain then that things have gone awry. As we speak the meeting is in chaos. Our presence could have impacted, alas people became lazy and now we must sit with the world and watch the circus, hoping those inside fight for us when we did not fight for them.
